How many weeks are in a year?
Zaki Tamir seems to have some serious difficulty with math. Take, for instance, this conversation with the Beth Din of America. The BDA suggested my ex-wife take the kids every third weekend but that was difficult for Zaki to understand:
Zaki:
Every third weekend comes out to my client having them one weekend a month. That’s what it comes out to… Meaning it would come out to…
BDA
Three every two months
Zaki:
Well I don’t see how that is because… Maybe I just have to do the math better because it turns out she’ll have them for one week, he has them for two weeks, she has them for one week, then right away for two weeks they ultimately…
BDA:
Yea but it doesn’t fall perfectly in a month. You have to think about it…
Zaki:
The main objection is she doesn’t want to have them less than she’s having them right now…
BDA:
In terms of total days it has no impact.
Zaki’s philosophy on bullying in school
My son was bullied for years at his previous school. Despite countless discussions, the school refused to do anything about it. The teachers admitted there was a problem but the school policy was to treat both bully and bullied the same since bullies are people too. This was one of the issues we discussed at Beth Din of America; I wanted to take him out of the school but my ex-wife refused.
Me:
one of my biggest problems.. is where she says ‘this has been going on for 3 years, we’re working on it’… at some point you have to say enough is enough… we need to take him out of the school because he’s being actively bullied!
Zaki:
every single school that’s out there has bullies and people that are bullied… and the reality is is that the way it’s being dealt with is the way it would be dealt with anywhere! it would be the same issue in any other place, probably worse! there are bullies everywhere and that’s also a part of growing up and it’s a part of being of learning how to deal with situations and that’s exactly what it is!
Zaki wants to stop proceedings
After Zaki’s threats towards me, I started recording him. He demanded that I delete the video. When I refused he told the arbitators he would need to stop the proceedings.
Zaki:
I am asking him to delete that video of me and if not I’m going to stop the proceeding right now because I have separate claims against him… I can’t continue the proceedings because I have right now a personal issue with this claimant.
BDA:
You can’t stop proceedings because you have a personal issue with the claimant
Zaki:
No because right now I cannot properly represent my client. I cannot properly represent my client because I have a personal issue…
BDA: I don’t follow
